YOGA
In Bhakti Yoga our goal is not to touch our toes or take advanced postures (though that may happen along the way!), instead we practice uniting our hearts with love, intention and gratitude. We acknowledge that each day we wake up with a body is a great gift and we offer each movement in gratitude for where we are here and now.
In this way, our yoga practice becomes an offering - an offering to say thank you for this day, thank you for my body, thank you for my breath, today I will take good care of this body and heart, today I will practice being kind in my mind so that it might become second nature in the way I speak to others, today I will say thank you thank you thank you.
Private classes by appointment: email to schedule a time that works best for you.
*All classes are open to all levels, we meet ourselves where we are on the mat each day,
with curiosity and an open mind, practicing that we might meet each other in the same way.
Prenatal Yoga & Meditation
Each class is designed to meet you where you are in your body, heart and mind. We will begin with a check in and dialogue, then will have an opening meditation to help you arrive in the here and now. Some days we may do a bit more stretching and breathwork to help deliver nourishment to baby and to your body, other days you might be better served with just a couple of supported restorative yoga postures. Offer yourself time to tune into the wisdom of your womb, to welcome the feminine energy of creation and to make space to receive nourishment and ease.
Bhakti Vinyasa
In our vinyasa practice we weave meditation, mantra and breath into an asana sequence to purify body, mind and heart. Throughout class I will invite you to move with loving presence and intention, that it might become second nature in the way we move through the world. These sessions can range from gentle slow flow to challenging power flow, with each class specially tailored to meet you as you are in this moment. Nourish your body and soul in this heart-centered practice to start your day in a vibration of love, healing and gratitude; an asana practice for our yoga in the world.
Yin + Restorative Yoga
with Soundbath
Yin Yoga is a gravity practice of long held postures/stretches to activate systems of the body and brain that clear and purify stress, assisting in healing through the tissues and organs of the body. With Restorative Yoga you will be guided to set up a cozy and comfortable shape that will be held for 20 minutes - 1 hour, supporting a complete relaxation response. Yin and Restorative Yoga encourage a parasympathetic nervous system response (the rest and digest response rather than flight/flight stress response). When we feel safe, when we can breathe deeply and feel supported, the brain tells the body it is okay to rest - this is the space in which deep healing can take place. Through a series of supported poses we marry the body with the breath to assist in a full release and restoration.
